Why do we not already have 18 plus games rating? Why are we that behind the rest of the world! do the powers that be not read the reports that violent games are affecting our kids. Or is it that they don’t care and will only care if it and they are highlighted in the media! Come on people get your act together it’s not rocket science.

i agree here, austrlians are missing out on the R18+ system, it is as everyone has said a scap goat, im 17 and i enjoy my gaming, but the thign is if violent games did cause things like that for us to be murders i would have been one years ago when i was about 8 or so, voilent game is just a fun way to entertain people and it keeps some people relaxed after a stress full day, take for example you ahd a shit day at work when you come home you jump on your xbox/pc/ps and go killing thigns thinking its the day that you just had then you forget about it and fell better, i do it all the time from school... my email adress is alex1151@msn.com if you would like to email me a little bit more about this, thanks for letting me post me 2 cents

@court

Studies show that if you are already disturbed then lets say reading a book, watching TV, hearing a annoying dog bark can set those type of people off.

Blaming games for all the worlds problems is just the government using it as a escape goat. It's like how they are blaming drinking for car accidents, the problem their is education and not having far harsher punishments for drink drivers. Will pushing it to 21 help, no! it will just go underground and then the problem will become harder to control.

The lack of R18+ rating is just unfair, we are missing out on all the fun, if books, magazines and movies can be given an R18+ rating and regulated why can't video games ?

For too long has Adult orintated material been the scapegoat for the government, there is litte to no proof that it contributes to murders and other unsavory acts.

@court: We don't necessarily want R18+ games to get our violence/killing fix, its simply because game developers are forced to censor their work to fit our standards, the rest of the world has accepted R18+ so why shouldn't we? There are times when a game being censored down from R18+ to MA15+ has caused it to lose its immersion and realism (Left 4 Dead 2 is an example)

jason i think your right i mean seriously why do we need games worse then what we have now... yes games do not breed murders, but it certaintly doesnt help the situtation.. i mean why should we have them, why do we need to play these type of games.. does it forfill gamers needs.. if so then obivously there must be something wrong with the gamer. in real life if we do such crimes we would be sent to jail.. were as in a video game we do such violence and we get rewarded ( dont understand that because it says in print.. nudity and sexual activity must not be related to rewards..HELLO doesnt this sound familar in GTA>... i am all for bringing out the 18+R but our game classifications ma+15 need to be changed to an R rated

@Jason
Maybe he went on a rage because his government didnt let him fulfill his lust for blood with games?
what if a lack of violent video games breeds more killers because they actually decided get out out of their rooms and into the real world??
And trust me, Violent video games DO NOT breed murderers, if that was the case i would have been in jail two years after Half life came out you twat.

You know whats funny if anybody were going to go on a murderous rampage due to video games. It would be the 15 year old kid who has access to violent games like Fallout 3 which should of been given an R18+ classification
