Site Updates: A History Of RC

With huge thanks to Refused Classification, the Case Studies page now contains a history of games from 1997 onwards that have either been Refused Classification by the OFLC, or generated significant controversy with their ratings decision. Hopefully this list should provide a greater context for the R18+ debate in this country, as well as a handy reference if needed. Site Updates: Template Letter, Podcast

The How You Can Help page has been updated with a standard template letter you can use to contact your Attorney-General, including a downloadable Microsoft Word version. The page also contains the names and addresses of all the Attorneys-General in Australia, so please, whether you use the template or make your own, please make your voice heard.

In other news, I was recently invited onto the Akimbo Podcast to discuss the need for an R18+ rating for computer and video games in Australia. If you’re interested, you can download/stream the podcast from this address. It was a lot of fun to do, and I hope it reaches even one person who hadn’t heard of this issue before.

Site Updates: Case Studies (And Banners)

I have added a case studies section to the website. This section will house detailed articles on games which have been Refused Classification in Australia, as well as those which were initially refused and then let in under an MA15+ rating. I encourage people to check out this section and report any errors to me so that I can correct them. You can also go straight to the individual case studies by clicking on the relevant game on the left hand side of the page, under the “Help Us” box.

Update: I’ve also added a series of banner images to the About page. If you would like to use these images to link to this site and raise awareness of this issue, please feel free.
